Lovely blue skies above the region this morning. Once again the white snow on the ground and blue skies makes for a beautiful morning in the Bandai area.

A perfect morning for skiing and snowboarding (well, weather wise - fresh powder would make it perfect!)

There was no snowfall last night and unfortunately it looks likely that it will be raining tomorrow.

According to the forecast, the rain might change into snow by Sunday morning and will continue falling through Monday.

Even with the less snow than usual, it's good that most of the resort remains open - all courses except Center 33 are still open.

Monday 21st is a national holiday in Japan and so the weekend should be a pretty busy one.

Ski resorts around Mt. Bandai are announcing their planned closing dates:

Listel Ski Fantasia - already closed (on 12 March).

Numajiri / Inawashiro resort / Inawashiro and Minero ski resorts - until 21st March

Alts Bandai / Urabandai ski resorts - until 27th March.

After 27th, resorts that remain open in the region will be Grandeco, Nekoma and Minowa.

Nekoma will be closed between 19th-21th and 26th-28 Apr but these resorts all plan to be open until 5th May ---- but whether they can do that or not will totally depend on the snow levels of course, which are less than usual and less than expected. We'll just have to see how things develop over the coming weeks.

LATE SEASON REPORTING
The individual Now reports will continue in each area until the season in that place closes - some will continue daily, some will become less than daily once we get into April.

Once the season has finished everywhere, we will be adding a general season wrap up to each of the reports, where we will also answer questions and comments that we regularly get sent. Some do keep on coming back! The end of season message will be up at the end of Golden Week in early May.

Thank you for reading.
