Today made up for yesterday; it was sunny and (not too) warm at times, snowing at others. In fact, it seems more like winter now than it did at the end of February! Just as lifts start closing and resorts shut down, the conditions have improved and skiing could keep on going....

Of which, the main season for most of the areas ends tomorrow, but the Akakan lifts (at least) will continue running on a limited basis (and you can get all the way down to the base no problem, at least for now). I'll let you know, and try to keep adding what information I can get. Spring backcountry skiing looks very good; the snow has been tricky lately, but this morning was nice settled snow—the dog loved to run on top of the firm snow on her walk, with me on light waxless teles. It doesn't get better than this in spring.

Lift operations:

Akakura Onsen: Ginrei No. 3 and No. 5; Kumado No. 3 Quad, No. 4 Triple; Yodel Super Quad; Akakura Chuo Triple. Kumado No. 3 open for night skiing (5 to 10 p.m.)

Akakan: all open (officially, although the Champion B course, and lift, were closed today)

Ikenotaira: Shirakaba Capsule Ikenotaira Quad, Alpen Blick No. 1

Suginohara: closed

Seki Onsen: open (one lift)

Myoko Ski Park: all open

Kyukamura Myoko: closed

Tangram: No. 3 and No. 5 lifts
