Hello and while I don't have any new snowfall to report to you, I wanted to post a new report - mainly to welcome you to the 'new look' of the reports and to introduce you to some of the new features of the report pages. You may not have had time to digest all of the changes yet, but I do encourage you too... because they are jolly interesting.

My reports themselves, and how I report, are unchanged and will remain unchanged. I'm a bit stubborn like that. But as you can see, everything now looks different and there's a lot of tables of data and charts and graphs and things to take in.

Basically, when SnowJapan were concocting their cunning plans for these major updates, they wanted the reports to give the reader a much more in-depth view of the season; and also to make it very easy to see how things were doing in previous seasons and make comparisons. All of this data was kind of hidden before now, but now it is all out there in the open and it makes for some very interesting reading. You can 'toggle' the data for each season on and off on the graphs and charts on the 'Snowfall Analysis' page (the big tab at the top of the page), and on some of the graphs you can even zoom in on part of the data as well.

All of this data will automatically be updated every time I post a new report and so you can keep an eye on how the season is progressing every day.

The other interesting thing - well, I think it is anyway - is all of the archive reports. Each one gives you a snapshot of the situation as it was on that particular day (rather than just showing the most recent updated data). That also helps with comparing and generally engrossing yourself in the data.

Anyway, I'll leave you to take a look around at it all. I'm sure the SnowJapan folk would be interested to hear your thoughts on the new stuff. As always if you want to contact them (or me), please use this form. If it is a comment meant for me, the guys at SnowJapan World HQ down there in Niigata will send it on.

---

Oh yes, the weather. It is a nice day today but sadly the lower slopes on the mountain now have more green and brown than white once again. Not to worry, looks like there might be some more snowfall by the end of tomorrow and on Wednesday (though we might well get rained on first).

---

Below are the planned dates for the four main resorts:

Niseko Grand Hirafu: Wednesday 23rd November 2016 until Sunday 7th May 2017
Niseko Annupuri: Saturday 26th November 2016 until Sunday 7th May 2017
Niseko Hanazono: Saturday 3rd December 2016 until Sunday 2nd April 2017
Niseko Village: Thursday 1st December 2016 until Sunday 2nd April 2017

Night skiing is planned from Saturday 10th December until Monday 20th March 2017 at the Annupuri, Grand Hirafu and Village resort areas.
