Good morning.

It's kind of a mix of grey and pale blue behind the some thin clouds early on this morning. Might it clear up today? It feels like it might and we are due a bit of sunshine tomorrow as well.

No fresh snowfall to report.

There's a fairly strong westerly wind this morning which seems destined to mess around with top lift operations, at least at the start of the day.

Anyway, it's keeping cold which is important as we wait for some fresh snowfall.

Niseko Avalanche Report:

Niseko base: -7℃, no snowfall. Moiwa 800m: -9.6℃, WSW5.6℃. Annupuri 1150m: -14℃, W18m/s, 220cm snowpack. Hirafu 1250m: -14℃, W12m/s. Kamui cape lighthouse: WSW12m/s, 1014Pa, 2.6m waves.

No snowfall but a strong westerly wind up high. Cornices and snowdrifts are developing above treeline and are prone to collapse or slide in leeward steep slopes. The avalanche hazard level is lowering, however surface slab slides from March 3-4th layer is still to be expected in the Backbowl, Annupuri bowl, Higashi-One 1100m and Mikaeri bowl cornice areas. Better not traverse across under cornices, it the riskiest thing to do, and better not stay at the valley bottoms since avalanches strike from above. Gates are scheduled to open. Seek for advice from the ski patrols and be prepared for backcountry touring.

Do not duck ropes and do not enter south facing strictly off limits areas.

People who has been inciting riding off-limits areas with their own selfish theory are not entitled to speak about safety, education or world standard.

Beware of obstacles hidden under the surface. Some pockets of good snow can be found in the trees.
