Sunny, some thin cloud
A very fine day was had by myself and the people I was wish yesterday. Oh yes indeed.
This morning there's some thin cloud around but generally the sun is out and it is fine and bright.
Yamabiko reporting a temperature of -9C at 7am this morning so it's still pretty cold up there. Less so down at base, currently hovering around zero and likely to warm up to around +4C later on in the day.
Tomorrow should bring us clear skies and mild conditions, but there's still snow on the forecast for after that.
Courses not open today are: - Grand Prix - Kandahar West - Kandahar East Read more ...

Fine and sunny
And today it will be a short report.
After a fine morning yesterday with a bit more cloud coming in during the afternoon, there's no fresh snow to report and there are clear and sunny blue skies above us this morning. Mt Yotei is beanie-less. A chilly start but temperatures will probably rise to low positive numbers later on.
And with that, I am going to head out for first lifts!
Resort specific opening news at time of writing (subject to change during the day):
Night skiing is planned until Monday 20th March 2017 at the Niseko Annupuri, Niseko Grand Hirafu and Niseko Village resort areas. There is no nighta in the Hanazono area. Read more ...

Fine and sunny in an overcast/thin cloud kind of way!
Good morning from Yuzawa.
The snow yesterday morning didn't last long and there's no fresh snow to report this morning.
The sun is out this morning, though it's a kind of hazy-overcast-y kind of fine featuring thin cloud rather than deep blue clear skies. See the images below to get an idea!
The forecast for tomorrow is fine weather again and a rise in temperatures further than we should see today (perhaps closing in on double digit numbers).
But don't worry, it still seems that we are going to get more snow mid-week. Just how much, we'll have to wait and see.
In the meantime it should be a fun few days of spring-like conditions.
If you suffer from hay fever, might be a good idea to cover your face up - some locals beginning to get the sneezes and itchy eyes. It always feels strange when there is still so much snow around!
Just in case you have not noticed yet, we have added 'planned closing dates' for resorts in the region on the report below. We'll be checking and updating that a few times a week.
It hard to believe that Muikamachi Hakkaisan will only be open for another two weeks - that resort always seems to close way too early! - but then we can feel better by remembering that Kagura plans to be open until late May!
Official snow depth information as of Sunday 12th March 2017
Kandatsu Kogen 'Hobo All Night' ('Almost All Night' from 6pm-4am) is on Fridays, Saturdays and nights before holidays until 1st April 2017. Spring nighta (6pm-10pm) on Saturdays and nighta before holidays from 7th April until 22nd April
Lovely day yesterday. Mix of blue sky, sunshine and cloud; not much wind; and while not much fresh snow, decent conditions from the snow the previous day. Anyway, a very nice start to the weekend.
This morning it was a cold start and while we can see some blue sky, it's a more overcast feel to the start to the day. The sun is out and it's bright, just lots of thin cloud up there. The forecast is for good weather today though so we can expect to see lots of the sun and fairly mild conditions by this afternoon. And perhaps tomorrow too, getting slightly warmer still.
The forecast still shows snow for around mid-week so that is something to keep an eye on.
For now though, have a good Sunday.

Thin, high cloud; sun
Good morning from Madarao.
The sun is out, though there's a lot of thin, high cloud up there. It looks like it will be a day of spring-like fine weather - and perhaps tomorrow too, just a little warmer.
Things should be getting colder around Tuesday though with snow due once again. Let's keep an eye on that and see what happens.
Madarao Kogen plans to be open until Sunday 2nd April.
Operating status for the day at Madarao Kogen (at time of report):
- Number 1 lift - Number 2 quad lift - Number 3A lift - Number 5 lift - Super quad lift - Number 11 lift - Number 12 lift - Number 13 lift - Number 15 lift - Moving walkway - Kids Park - Free Ride Park - Snow Mobile Land
Tree runs should be open

- Nighta at Madarao Kogen is every Saturday until 25th March (and also on 19th March)
The sun is out this morning. It's not vivid blue skies though; there's thin cloud up there so looks overcast. Still pretty cold though at the start of the day anyway... there was actually a bit of light snow at times and in places around the region yesterday. Only very slight though.
Still, we're continuing to do well as we approach the middle of March - and there's more snowfall due this coming week for a nice top-up.
Official snow depths numbers reported by different areas of Shiga Kogen:
Please note that these numbers are the official numbers that ski resorts publish.
Another beautiful day here at Appi with the sun showing its face and light winds. The next few days should be relatively sunny too but on Tuesday we can see the clouds rolling in and we are still expecting a relatively heavy snowfall amount coming our way starting on Tuesday night and into Wednesday. It certainly looks promising.
The mountain is in great shape still and all runs are open for fun. Although the crowds are thinning out somewhat the resort is still in full bloom and by the looks of things we are going to be open through till the first week in May if we don’t see a wild swing in temperatures that is.

While there is no snow to report, it is a truely glorious day with perfect blue sky. You would be struggling to see any cloud over the resort - the day is that good. Tommorrow looks like it will be a repeat of today's weather. Read more ...

Clear with scattered clouds
Excellent morning at Tenjin, the run to the bottom opened early and the snow was in great shape after yesterday's closure and a very cold night.
The blue skies unfortunately warmed things quickly and by the afternoon the transformation to stickiness had begun.
Tomorrow morning should still be good and the forecast for tomorrow night is small snow up top and small rain down the bottom. Let's hope they have underestimated things!
The next largish snowfall is forecast for Wednesday.
