Yesterday was cloudy all day, with some interesting low cloud throghout the day in the region. It was fairly mild but somehow looked wintery.
Today will be another warm day (currently 7 degrees in town) and it is likely to get to around 12 degrees midday. It's a cloudy start and likely to be similar all day.... perhaps a chance of rain tomorrow with colder temperatures.

We have blue skies this morning. Some cloud remains, but generally it looks like it will be a fine sunny day in Zao. Another warm start - already 6 degrees in the village and with close to no breeze it feels warm outside.
Snow conditions on the slopes that remain open are as you might expect very much "spring" now - heavy going at times, but on days like today when the weather is so good it's hard to complain.... we can still boast excellent snow cover on the slopes that are open.

Another overcast morning but it did get reasonably cool last night dipping to near -3. There's very little wind about and it should be a pleasant enough morning on the mountain. JMA have issued a thunderstorm advisory for the region but looking at the weatehr radar I can't see anything about to hit us this morning. Later today though we can expect some rain to move in possibly associated with some thunderstorms and later through the night the rain is expected to turn to snow so we may have a little bit of fresh by tomorrow.
It looks like Hanazono ski area is still running it's lifts today but I'm mostly sure that like Niseko Village today is the last day. Yesterday was just the last day they were offering ski lessons.
It is a nice warm sunny morning in Hakuba. Not totally bluebird, as some lingering clouds are still around, however they should not block too much sun today.
Temperatures are expected to climb to 13 C today so be ready for some real spring snow at the bases of the resorts. The temperature at the top of Happo today at 9:00 was -1.4 so up at higher elevations the snow should be a little less slushy.
Here is the latest info from resort areas that remain open (subject to change):
Happo-one The following lifts in the Kurobishi/Usagidaira area of the resort remain operating - Gondola, Grat quad, Alpen quad, Kurobishi No2 quad, Kurobishi No3 pair, Skyline No2 pair, Hakuba Kokusai No3 pair AB and the Panorama pair lift. Large parts of the upper slopes still skiable and the upper slopes plan to remain open serviced by lifts until 5th May. Yesterday was a cloudy day in the region and this morning things are a bit brighter, though there is still a lot of cloud aroundbut the sun is out at the moment and casting shadows. It is not as warm as yesterday, but another mild spring day in the village and comfortable conditions out on the slopes. The temperature should get into double digits this afternoon.
Tomorrow the forecast is for cloud and perhaps rain (or even sleet or something whiter up top?) - it will certainly be colder once again.

Fine weather this morning in Shiga Kogen after a very cloudy day yesterday.
The forecast is telling us to expect clouds to move back in later on and we can expect some rain or even perhaps (and hopefully) snow higher up overnight and into tomorrow morning. It will only be a sprinkling of course, but snow is always better than rain!
After that clear and sunny weather currently forecast for Thursday and Friday.

A very warm Spring day in Minakami with a current temperature of 18 deg C and rising! The rivers are starting to increase in flow as the melt starts to kick into high gear. There is still plenty of Spring riding to be had at Tenjindaira which will be hosting a lot of park events in the upcoming weekends. You can ride at Tenjin in the morning then kayak the Tone River in the afternoon!
