Hoshino Resort Tomamu review
I visited Tomamu with some friends on a day trip from Furano.

Here are my thoughts on the good and not-so-good things:-

The good:-

1. The off-piste terrain/policy. Even though there was no fresh snow and it was crusty off-piste and between the trees, you could see that Tomamu would be good on a powder day. The trees are much better-spaced than the (fairly) nearby resorts of Furano and Kamui plus the registration system they've got in place for off-piste riding means that

Kamui Ski Links review
After a forty minute bus ride from furano we arrived to a perfect bluebird day of smooth white untracked snow. It looked a bit flat and small, but no worries! I grabbed the gondola and headed straight up. Being the child that i am, the first thing i did was found the line under the gondola and played on that. It was honestly a riot. Knee to waist deep, lots of bumps and drops, and an awesome little pow field

Rusutsu Resort review by Gavin
Lovely Resort BUT, only a couple of pensions to stay at and they are uncontactable from Australia so that only leaves the big Rusutsu 4 star hotel, which is expensive. The main problem I have is you dont get a chance to choose your room, my room number was 1718 which ment that I had 8 levels, 2 lift changes and about 1200 metres of walking to get to the Gondola which is part of a two Gondola system, So
