Hokkaido Greenland White Park review
It really small, and not worth the money.

I only went for night boarding, but the bonus was the there were mabye 12 other people on the hill.

This hill is good for beginers, but can get boring after time.

Well SAHORO RESORT,

What Can I Say!

As a couple of Gaijin Hackers, we learnt to snowboard a few years ago in Japan. Now with working a six day a week job that only leaves a Sunday to play in the snow so this is where Sahoro has become a favorite mountain for us. It's the closest resort with only a 3 hour drive to get there so heres a typical day we spent last year at Sahoro.

Well its 4.30 and the

Pippu is a small resort just outside of Asahikawa. It doesn`t have many slopes but has one excellent slope for snowboarders called Strawberry course (or something like that). Being Hokkaido, the powder is great and there is plently of it.

The lift tickets are really reasonably priced and there is an excellent Onsen (and Rotenburo) situated next to the resort for relaxing after a hard days skiing.

Resort is a little bit small.

It is ok for a family to spend a weekend there with kids.

It is quite convenient to go from the centre of the city.

Under-rated resort in western Hokkaido, losing out it seems on publicity to it's more famous neighbouring resorts (won't mention the names here - we all know who they are, don't we?!)

Quite a good selection of runs for beginners and more experienced riders, and ALWAYS - I mean ALWAYS - great snow. Well the 20 or so times I have been anyway.

Very good alternative in Hokkaido. Yosh...

Not bad.

When I went last year the wind almost froze my head but other than that the place was good.

A range of levels.

But beware that the beginners runs basically meant cross-country skiing and most of the intermediate ended in the beginner's runs so you have to be sure to build of your speed to make it to the end without having to take off your skis and walk
