Awesome place. I think it helped also being our first visit to Japan. The snow was packed yet enjoyable to get the boarding feeling back. Then on day 3 it snowed and snowed and snowed.
The powder here is fantastic and has now set a high bar with which to compare in the future. As a regular of Thread-bare in Australia this really was a pleasant change!
The accomodation options are great with super access to the slopes. The food (although obviously a personal taste) and the options were plentiful. The locals are wonderful and so respectful but as another reader mentioned this might be as a reaction to our approach to them. We did spot a few non locals who insisted on being obnoxious. These people shouldnt be trusted with a passport.
Back to the snow... the best thing you can do is first of all come here and then when you have finished skiing or boarding take your boots off and get yourself down to the local onsen... my legs and feet have never felt so good!
