Uenono defines the expression 'more bang for your buck'. The full day lift ticket is just 2500yen or 2000yen after noon. Yes, the mountain is small... BUT..

You should def hit up Uenono if:

(1)you want to improve your jibbing, your jumping, learn sick new tricks, or just practice park all day without endless hiking or a long lift that deposits you miles away from the park.

(2)you want to work on your alpine (slalom) style, and

Yamagata Zao Onsen is possibly a great mountain for beginner and intermediate skiiers... but for snowboarders....

In order to get from the left to the right of the mountain... you must get through what feels like half a mile of flat lands.

If you like parks.. well.. Yamagata Zao has at least 2.. (I only found 2).. but each has possibly only 1 tabletop and maybe one or two rails...

Koeji is a small - no, tiny - little local mountain.

What I would call a bad ski joke, and though it seems to have a large group of dedicated locals.. due to its close proximity to Kesannuma and cheap prices 2700 yen for 1 day (cheaper if you know about the half price coupons)

Unless they lowered the lift ticket to 200 yen a day, I personally would not frequent it again.
