If you are in Osaka-Nagoya region, this is where you want to head
Dynaland-Takasu Snow Park is one of the resort areas in the Gujo area of Gifu and a new discovery for me.

These two are are connected and share a joint ticket (I don't even know if you can buy seperate ones), but it's about the same cost as a ticket elsewhere.

Makes for a really big area, though personally I preferred the Dynaland side... felt the snow was better over there on the day I went. The ungrommed area of Champion

Great Day trip for Kansai people
This resort hasn't been reviewed for awhile so here is a fresh one.

So I made my first trip to Dynaland ever not really knowing what to expect. My expectations were pretty low at first because this winter I had been to so many great resorts like Furano, Niseko, Hakuba and Zao. But to my surprise Dynaland really provided me and my friend with a really great day.

Me and my friend live in Osaka and and with weather getting warmer we

For a day trip from Kansai the new combined pass for Dynaland and Takasu (two resorts are linked half-way up the mountain) gives a better variety of slopes than anywhere else in the Kansai / Chubu regions.

The snow at Dynaland was melting after lunch, whereas Takasu was holding out due to being on the shade.

I had a great day and will return in early 2010

I have been to a few resorts in Gifu prefecture and I have to say this is one of the better ones. The place is very large and a lot of place to maneuver whether you're a beginner or advanced.

This resort opens from 5am-6pm on weekends and holidays, so this place stays open longer than the other resorts in the area, which is great. When all of the other resorts are closed and people are sitting in

Soooooo many people and not a lot of terrain.

I'd preferred to have driven up the hill to Takasu where I am sure there would have been fewer people

Quite a few good things about this place - I really like it.

Especially on weekdays.

Which brings me to the less good things - mainly that this place gets really busy on weekends.

Choose a weekday and you'll be happy

Coming from Vancouver, I think that I'm pretty spoiled. I have Seymour, Cypress, and Grouse within 25 minutes from my house and Whistler/Blackcomb about an hour in a half away.

Since arriving in Japan, I have hit about 10 different resorts and the only one that has shown me some decent untracked powder, time and time again is Dynaland! No one seems to go into the powder that is just calling everyone to it. Anywhere there are

Just 1 and a half hours from Nagoya, and with lifts running from 5 am (weekends), this resort is a good place to hit. Not especially big, but a good day will provide u with a powder turns early on, some well kept jumps, an awesome pipe and a variety of rails and boxes.

The weekend crowds however can be off the chart. Even at 6:00am u can be standing for 5 minutes. And when open, over 30 people

Dynaland is the nearest good resort to where I live, and I love the place. I may be bias.

But it is a good resort with a good selection of runs, a good (I think) park and usually good snow.

Definitely worth a day out of you can make it

Been there twice and snow conditions were good both times. Suited well for intermediate level skiers and boarders. Not much steep stuff. They have a really sweet halfpipe and some OK manmade jumps. Overall, decent place but lock your stuff!!!
