Great place to learn.
The Nanae Snow Park is about an hour from Hakodate and is relative cheap to get to using the local trains. There is a shuttle bus that runs to and from Onumakoen station and the snow park. You can travel from Hakodate to Nanae and back for around 1060 yen.

This place was almost in my backyard and the school where I taught was supplied with a season pass which was rarely used by anyone else.

Best snow is off the top lift where you'll usually be riding with only a handful of others. Some fun runs out of bounds and no ski patrol, but pretty short.

Great views of Hakodate mtn and across to Honshu on a clear day.

Hakodate Nanae Snow Park review
I was there only for one day. I was staying in Hakodate, which I mast say is a very pretty town, so I thought I'd try the local resort as well.

Well, as I mentioned before, Hakodate is a beautiful town, with many romantic places to visit if you go there with your girlfriend and the well known Hokkaido food!

I must say that there are more nice things to say about the city than the resort.
