Exceptional snow quality & uncrowded runs!
Aomori Spring (formerly known as Naqua Shirakami) has mostly mellow undulating, well-groomed terrain as well as extensive tree riding and a few steep pitches. The facilities are very good including five lifts (of which two are covered high speed quads and one gondola), extensive learning and kids’ facilities, a good range of dining options (from high end bistro to casual noodle bar) and excellent freestyle features (including a 22ft halfpipe and a terrain park).

There is the option to stay on

Again, very impressed.
Second trip here, every bit as impressed as the first time. It's a little bit of a drive but it far outshines the resorts in closer proximity to us. Good size, minimal crowding and entertaining runs.

Lift system is well layed out and quick, the only way I could see someone not enjoying this resort is if they are a true expert or simply don't like long, winding runs through beautiful trees.

If you're a pure park snowboarder, go somewhere else,

OK, nothing special
Someone seems to be giving it high scores, but I didn't get that.
It was ok, just nothing special. It will be a good place if you are in the region, but not a place you'll be spending time to get to.
I would prefer Tazawako in the same kind of general area

Excellent conditions, beautiful mountain and exciting intermediate runs.
We did a trip for the day and drove out from the Misawa-shi area (about 2 1/2 hours) and it was well worth the trip. The slopes were not crowded, very well maintained and just the right challenge level for my wife and I (we're not beginners but not experts, either).

I was particularly fond of the intermediate run that dead ended at Mos Burger. It was great to be able to ride straight down and have a burger and a

It's a great family resort
It's a great family resort.

There are plenty of fun things to do for the kids to do as well as skiing.

The service at the hotel has been excellent but there isn't much to do in the evening. You'll need a good book!\r\n\r\nI hold a ski pass and there is almost always good snow to be found.

I think this resort is good for those who want to learn or brush up their skills. From mid January the far left of

Naqua Shirakami
Well I live but a short drive from Aji, so coming here beats anyday in my apartment.

Today seemed like a good day to just get out and mess around with my boards but as far as the snow conditions I would say that it wasnt the greatest.

Obviously this mountain needs a couple more days of snow to bring out its potential since alot of the runs were marked out with potential hazzards.

Other than that

Naqua Shirakami
Stayed the weekend. No new snow but the whole area was in a little warm spell. The course was long. Which I liked but as being a challenge far from it. There was about a 50/50 skier to boarder ratio. For the boarders, not to many jumps to be found. All together it still was a great place to ride.

One down point is you have to pay per person to stay overnight in the Prince Hotel.

The room was clean

I live quite close to the resort and I visited the place a number of times last season. If you go on a good day you are bound to enjoy yourself. The snow, however, is not ALWAYS reliable.

If you just want to muck about on a few groomed runs then it's worth a day out.

But if you want a challenge, you may as well head to Hakkouda further up towards Aomori city.

Naqua Shirakami review by neiln77
On my visit to this resort, the conditions were great. There was 18 inches of fresh powder and still falling. It had snowed constant for two days prior to hand and was still dumping the snow when we arrived.

The only down side to that was they were grooming the advanced runs on the western side of the mountain so they were closed, but other than that the staff was great and very helpful.

I went on a friday and
