Wow. Just wow.
I can't say enough good things about Niseko United, and specifically the Annupuri side. I've been riding in Japan for three seasons and I've never experienced anything quite like this. We spent a half a day on the Grand Hirafu side and then went over to Annupuri and never looked back.

Grand Hirafu was slightly crowded; not terrible, for the time of year, but crowded nonetheless. Annupuri was basically empty. No wait time for the lifts, no congestion on the runs,

So much Powder!
Using one of the day passes I won in a giveaway from SnowJapan, we had an amazing time at Annupuri.

Every day there was plenty of fresh, light powder to ski. I can't say I've ever experienced better conditions.

Heading skier's right off of the "bubble chair" quad at Annupuri resulted in untracked lines through the trees all day long.

I can't wait to get back

Crowded paradise
I have been smowboarding at Niseko since 1999 and have spent the last 5 seasons (Jan & Feb) there. The snow quantity and quality is often superb and if you have a large enough window you are sure to get good bottomless powder. I would like to make 2 points.

Firstly, if you only have a window of 7-10 days you are not guaranteed excellent snow and/or conditions. The last 2 seasons in particular have seen long dry spells in both

Great Place for Snowboarding
There is a 5000m green ride for beginner and for them to spend a whole day there to practice.

The snow is soft and with fresh snow all the time.

The cafe locations are great for people to get rest there.

Great Pow!!
This is a pretty good mountain.

It gets a little crowded sometimes, but not like Hirafu.

Wide open slopes with pow staches all over the edges and throught the trails until afternoon.

The best part of this mountain is the access to the gates. When they open it rocks. Good tree runs, wide open bowls, full of knee to waist deep pow

The powder at niseko is incredible but especially the untouched village of Annupuri.

It is next to Niseko village (Higashiyama) and it is brilliant. Make sure you get some fat skis since there is so much snow. Annupuri has great back bwols but don't touch them as an amateur or you might find yourself struggling to get through it.

If you like piste though Annupuri is not the place for you, they are quite short and a bit boring, if you

What a wonderful place to ski!

Being a novice skier and my son an expert snowboarder it is often hard to find resorts that cater to both of us but Annupuri did just that. We stayed at a wonderful small lodge - Annupuri Youth Hostel. The hostel is just a short walk to the gondola station.

Access between the major resorts in Niseko is slick, you can either ski or ride a bus. We could not have asked for a

See my feedback for Niseko Hirafu.

As part of Niseko United Area, Annurpurni added a great selection off riding. Plenty off long easy and intermediate runs to get the legs in first couple of days. Some great off-piste areas through the gates.

Took a while to get back across to Hirafu via lifts in afternoon, especially when blizzard like conditions but was part of the fun.

Had one great session of night riding here with my girlfriend. They'd just groomed the runs and

Niseko Annupuri Kokusai review
We've just returned from our second trip to Niseko and, despite being there during the worst blizzard conditions for many years (Shin-Chitose airport was closed for almost two days, despite a fleet of eighty snowploughs working round the clock), we enjoyed it even more than the first time round.

We're intermediate skiiers, so the mountain provides us with some challenging areas, as well as some nice, flattish, practice areas. The resort is unusual in that there are also several, un-groomed

Niseko Annupuri Kokusai review by Richard Bell
The big proviso to this review has been the lack of snow so far this season - with the normal 2m+ I can see how good the place would be - great scenery, plenty of lifts and a variety of (mainly easy) runs. Boarders - would say it's skiier biased, though not exclusively so.

Trouble is, so far this season the top lifts are not open and so it is currently impossible to go to the summit and

Niseko Annupuri Kokusai review (submitted before 2003)
I really enjoyed this quiet resort. Depends on what you like, it is easy access to night life and onzens.

Annpuri is away from Hirafu where it is more like a small ski town. There are some local bars and restaurants which are friendly and family oriented.

What's great also is that with the ski pass you can ski all three mountains (Hirafu is most challenging).
