Oku Ibuki seemed to be the most popular resort in Kansai on the 30th, there was really no need for the nav system in the car. Just follow all the cars with skis/boards on the roof, they all headed there.
Once there the car parks gave an indication on how popular this place was. Arriving at 8:00am there were already about 750 cars there. (Based on carpark capacity, I didn't count. Total carpark capactiy is 1800)
Last Sunday 1/30/05 I went to oku ibuki. It was my second time ever to go snowboarding/or skiing in Japan. Coming from USA, my previous experience is in the Colorado Rockies. Oku Ibuki was completely crowded last Sunday. Even advanced snowboarders were crashing into people. It was unavoidable on some of the green runs. There some narror areas were many people would stop to rest or watch some of the jumps along the side and it would be difficult to
Only 2 good courses on the whole mountain one on the skiers left and right. One of those courses is skiers only. Not a bad place to bring your family and have a nice drive home in the spring driving beside Lake Biwako.
