Skiing on a snowcone
Snow Town Yeti is probably the closest "resort" to Tokyo, and I use the word resort in the loosest way. It's the only ski area I've been to that had and entrance gate to get in and out. talking about out, when you leave they take your lift ticket from you in exchange for a discount ticket for future visits. No keeping the ticket for a souvenir.

Snow Town Yeti review
Visited Snowtown Yeti on 23 October, a Saturday, for a pre-season warm-up. They had been open a week, having laid down a ribbon of crushed-ice on their "A" course, served by a quad lift and a pair lift operating in parallel. The quad was ski-on, ski-off, while the pair was walk-on, walk-off. The first lift had a huge line to get on, probably about a 10 minute wait. The second almost none.

Very small resort with short runs placed high on the slopes of Fuji.

Only decent thing about it is the huge crushed ice machine that enables the resort to open in October.

If you live near, and are desperate for some early season sliding, it'll fit the bill.

Yeti only has a few short runs and snow conditions aren't so great, but if it's a clear day, you see what Mount Fuji looks like close-up.
