Washigatake review
It started snowing the night before and it was snowing all morning so there was great powder.

Washigatake opens at 5am and I got a 6am start so I was one of the first to hit the fresh snow. There isn't much of a wait so early in the morning, but it is COLD! The wait for lifts started getting a bit longer around 930am or so, but I already had 3 1/2 hours under my belt.

4th. January being a national holiday was crowded but still waiting time for lifts was short.

6th. January a normal day was great - no waiting time for lifts and snow on beginner and intermediate courses was great!

I headed up mid-week, and it was comfortably crowded. The conditions were terrible - very icy in the morning. The black diamond runs at the top were deserted (and deservedly so, considering the ice).

The board park is great - 2 halfpipes and 6 or 7 rails.

Also, there's a nice hot spring and some great Indian food (especially the nan).

All in all, a great place AFTER a fresh dumping of snow. Let's pray for more snow
