Suishozan is a small ski hill located to the west of central Kazuno city in the northern region of Akita Prefecture. It is closed on certain days during the season (see below for details). Snowshoe tours are available at this ski hill.
Akita Prefecture is located in the Tohoku region of northern Honshu. Akita faces the Sea of Japan in the west and is bordered by Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi and Yamagata prefectures from north to south. The region has cold winters and there are numerous ski hills located around the prefecture, though most of them are small scale with just one or two lifts.

Suishozan is located less than 3km from Route 282 and less than 5km from the Kazuno Hachimantai IC on the Tohoku Expressway.
From the Kazuno Hachimantai IC exit, turn right onto Route 282 and then turn left onto Prefecture Road 66 and follow the signs to head to the ski hill base.
At the time of writing (mid May), almost all ski resorts in Japan have closed for the 2016-2017 season.
