Yuzawa is a small ski hill located just to the east of central Yuzawa city in the southern region of Akita Prefecture. Not to be confused with the town and ski resorts in Yuzawa town in Niigata Prefecture. For the 2016-2017 season, just the two rope tow style lift will operate.
Akita Prefecture is located in the Tohoku region of northern Honshu. Akita faces the Sea of Japan in the west and is bordered by Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi and Yamagata prefectures from north to south. The region has cold winters and there are numerous ski hills located around the prefecture, though most of them are small scale with just one or two lifts.
Private ski lessons are held at Yuzawa.
Ski equipment rental is available.
There are no special facilities for children.
There are no special snow park facilities.
Yuzawa Season & Opening Times
Typical season is from Mid December until Late February
We are still in the process of checking and updating ski resort information for the upcoming 2017-2018 ski season. Many ski hills do not update their own official information until November and hopefully most of our updates will be done by the end of this month. If planned opening dates have not yet been updated for a particular ski hill, note that most usually open around the same time each season. Message updated on 14th November 2017.
