Iwate Prefecture is located in the Tohoku region of the main island of Honshu. Morioka is the capital city. Most of the ski and snowboard hills in Iwate Prefecture are located in the western mountainous regions, near to the border with Akita Prefecture. Aomori Prefecture is to the north and Miyagi Prefecture is to the south of Iwate.
A bus service from Morioka Station takes about 60 minutes.

The resort is a 21km drive from Shizukuishi Station (Tazawako local line and Akita Shinkansen) via Prefecture Road 212. Takizawa IC is the closest exit on the Tohoku Expressway - about 21km away to the east of the resort - but to the south east the Morioka IC is also just over 26km.
From the Morioka IC exit, turn right onto Route 46 and just over 5km later turn right onto Prefecture Road 219 and head north to Amihari Onsen.
