Makinoiri Snow Park has been closed for the last handful of seasons but has apparently re-opened for the 2016-2017 season. It sounds like two lifts are operating and a 1 day lift ticket costs just 1000 yen. It is connected with the Kita Shinshu Kijimadaira resort and the lifts can be used with a valid ticket for that resort. We will try to find out more about this news and update this listing soon.

Nagano Prefecture is located in the Chubu region of the main island of Honshu. Most of the Northern Alps, Central Alps and Southern Alps are located within Nagano (along with neighbouring prefectures). Nagano has the second highest number of ski and snowboard resorts in all of Japan and they are spread around the whole prefecture. Nagano city and many of the major ski resorts are located in the northern region.
