    • Important: The below list is a work-in-progress and will not be complete until December 2024. The list will gradually be updated as information is gathered and confirmed for the upcoming ski season. More details can be found on the individual ski area pages within SnowJapan (links below).   Ski areas that have an official name change for the 2024-2025 season Tanigawadake Tenjindaira (Gunma Prefecture): the new name of the ski area is Mt.T by Hoshino Resorts Kamuro (Yamagata Prefecture): the new name of the ski area is Green Valley Kamuro   Ski areas that have announced other major changes Heavens Sonohara Snow World (Nagano Prefecture): this ski area will start allowing snowboarders for the 2024-2025 season   Ski areas that will not be opening for the 2024-2025 season  Echo Valley (Nagano Prefecture) Grandee Hatoriko Ski Resort (Fukushima Prefecture) Inawashiro Resort (Fukushima Prefecture) Ishiuchi Hanaoka (Niigata Prefecture) Itsukamachi (Niigata Prefecture) Mt Granview (Niigata Prefecture) Mt Jeans Nasu (Tochigi Prefecture) * permanently closed St.MARY (Miyagi Prefecture) * permanently closed (If you are unable to find a ski area on SnowJapan that you remember from the past, it might have closed and be listed on www.snowjapanhistory.com).   Last updated on 25th October 2024.
