Another 15cm of fresh fat flakes in the last 24 hours. Only 5cm since the groomers went through last night, so not a huge accumulation on course today but there is plenty of fresh around up there.

Kuma Otoshi has been getting a work out during the week, and being the weekend, the Ski Patrol have closed it to give it a break from traffic for a few days.

The Halfpipe is the talk of the town at the moment. It is cut very well and in perfect condition. The large amounts of fresh snow in the last week have meant it has been maintained more than usual to keep its shape and clear out extra snow. Make sure you register at the Ropeway ticket office before dropping in.

The first of the weekly Cultural Events is tonight at the Furano Hiroba from 6pm. The Governor of Hokkaido will be attending tonight, with the associated press coverage, so it is sure to be the best show of the year. Make sure you get down there to see the talented local traditional artists perform.

The Furano Theatre Company has started their performances of Kanashibetss (this year's play). Ask at the tourist office for session times. Every year they put on an excellent production and it is definately worth checking out an evening session after a day on the slopes.
