After a cold morning, things are finally starting to warm up just a little bit. I took a few turns out on the Kitanomine Zone side of things, and after all the grooming they did last night conditions were hard, packed, and fast. Not the best day to be out if your in the market for fresh powder. All the usual treasure troves were either groomed over or crusted with ice after the dry day yesterday and -24 temperatures over night. I didn't make it over to the Furano Zone, but after looking at the grooming schedule from last night, it's safe to say you can expect more of the same.

The good news is, all the runs are looking great. It's a great day for skiing, and the weather is cold but absolutely beautiful. It was pretty dry all morning, but the forecast is calling for a few flurries to find their way through this afternoon, so don't be too surprised if you meet with a snow shower or two while practicing your technical turns.

The ground crew was out around 10am working on the snowboard park, which got pretty blasted by all the snow we had the last two weeks. They were out digging a small halfpipe, so that's something to look forward to for those of you in the quest for big air.

It's -10 now, which is quite the jump from the overnight low, but we'll see if it makes it up to the -6 they're calling for today. Winds are pretty light, and again the weather is absolutely beautiful. Just watch out for the icy patches!
