Yesterday was another perfect blue sky day, with breathtaking views. Temperatures were quite warm in town, meaning a lot of snow melt, and the snow quality on mountain was also affected to mid mountain only. That means the higher slopes of Furiko, Panorama and Kuma were saved from the warmer conditions.

Snow overnight has bought 5cm+ of windblown snow to the village.

As predicted todays weather is stormy with strong winds. Heavy snowfall is a welcome change to the last few days, however strong winds mean that lift operations are limited.

At the moment, the gondola and ropeway are on wind hold. The only lift running at this stage is the Kitanomine beginner lift High Speed Quad 1.

On a day like this, it is so great that the Furano town is right down the hill. There is lots to do in town. You can visit the Cheese Factory, do some wine tastings at a few wineries in town, go ten pin bowling, there is a sports gym with pool in town if you want to stay active. Alternatively, there is also the option to head up to the onsens on Tokachidake.
