Hello from Hakuba.

Lots of layered cloud around in the afternoon yesterday, with the sun still breaking through and casting shadows.

It is a mix of cloud (some of it heavy dark grey looking) and blue sky and sun this morning. Maybe the sun will win through during the day, maybe not. But it will probably warm up to over 15C.

Unfortunately rain looks very likely tomorrow.

Snow on the main base run at Cortina is getting patchy too now and they are struggling to remain open through tomorrow (planned closing date). There has been lots of moving snow around to try and keep that open but they are saying that they have run out of snow to use and there might be a small area where you might need to unstrap and walk. Full marks for efforts in keeping open for the folks. Gambatte!

Lots of people are lining up for the Happo-one gondola as I write this - snow now has completely gone from the run going down to the base station there now. Still, there's snow higher up and that's where the lifts go!
