Hello on this middle day of the long weekend here in Japan.

And there's fresh snow in Hakuba.

Yesterday rather strong winds prevailed and there was no new cm of snow during the day. Lots of cloud, some snow falling, some blue sky at time and in places. A whole big mixed bag of weather conditions.

As I said though, new cm snow of overnight on the mountains with around 10cm being reported mostly - Hakuba Goryu posting the larged number with 25cm of fresh up on Alps Daira apparently. Sounds good to me. Just a bit down here at base and at village level.

Limited visibility on the upper slopes this morning - snow is falling and it looks pretty fog taking a look at the cams. I'll be up there soon to take a good look myself. Moderate to heavy snow is forecast for today so fingers crossed I'll be bringing in some more decent numbers in the report tomorrow.

From tomorrow less snow is likely with clear weather lined up for Tuesday through Friday. Lots of sun icons on the weather forecasts.
