Overcast skies again today in Hakuba. The upper portions of Happo-One, Hakuba 47 and Tsugaike are covered by clouds and visibility will be limited. A cool night last night made and light precip. made for some new snowfall in the high alpine. Not any deep powder to go raving about but some ( a few centimeters) accumulated atop the peaks.
Wind is light from the NE today.

( See Backcountry Advisory Below )

Avalanche Hazard:

Above tree line: Considerable

Tree line: Moderate

Below tree line: Low

Backcountry Travel Advisory:
Again poor visibilty and light out there today so take caution when descending. Cloud bank is at approx. 1600m a.s.l. Spring conditions mean a shallow snowpack over bushes, rock outcroppings and bamboo (sasa) will be more likely to slide. Also take care in convex areas as there may be glide cracks formed and big holes in the snow. Wet, moisture laden snow will be more likely to slide on steep faces and this may also loose rocks/debris onto unwary travellers, so be careful under steep rock faces and cliffs.
