Very warm, 20 deg.C at 8:30 in the Valley! It's going to be very warm with gusty winds out there today, definitely a day for the 50+ UV cut sunscreen. Strong westerly winds are blowing that funny yellow desert sand over from China again so if you're wondering why your sunglasses and goggles are caked with a yellow film and the snow looks odd.

For those of you headed out into the backcountry, be aware that there will be quite a bit of debris at the bottom of the shutes due to heavy sliding carrying rocks and branches, old skis and whatever else may have been burried up there. On pisters should have fun on the - still plentiful - spring slush. Just keep watch for the occasional exposed tree stump, dirt and rocks below midway.

Take greater precaution on steep slopes where the snow from last week has still not slid. Intense solar radiation will also warm up the surface layers and allow for wet loose slides again in steeper terain. (30 degree + slopes)
