That's more like it. There's lots of blue sky this morning with a band of fluffy cloud covering lots of the peaks of the mountain backdrop. This morning it is 13C in the village and a high of around 20C forecast and tomorrow should bring more sun and an even higher high, so things are warming up. We might see some rain on Thursday but after that it looks like a clear run into the weekend.

The lower slopes of Happo are now almost all brown as the snow has departed for the season, while the lower slopes of Goryu and 47 are retaining snow better with just some patches here and there.

Just a reminder about the 'Golden Week' holidays in Japan. Monday 30th April, Thursday 3rd May and Friday 4th May are national holidays in Japan and so we effectively have two long weekends coming up... some lucky people may also have the Tuesday and Wesnesday off work, making it a 9 day long holiday for some. The ski season will then officially end in Hakuba on the last Sunday (6th May) at the resorts that remain open. We can probably expect all of the Golden Week to be busy out there, especially those long weekends, so keep that in mind if you plan to be in Hakuba for this last part of the season. Hope you can get here to enjoy it - lasto chansu!
