Hello from Hakuba and unfortunately it's wet here in the village this morning, and there is still not a whole lot to report.

It was mild overnight and it remains about the same this morning at about 5C here in the village. While it is raining down here at base, it does look like snow is falling at higher elevations and it is also forecast to get colder as the day goes on today.

We're expecting the sun out tomorrow and slightly higher temperatures around Thursday.

Keep an eye on the forecast and I'll be back when there is more to report.

In the meantime, waiting for snow!

Below are the official planned season opening dates for the ski and snowboard resorts in the Hakuba region. There are all subject to change depending on what happens weather-wise:

Hakuba Happo-one: as soon as there is enough snow
Hakuba 47: from late November
Hakuba Goryu: from late November
Tsugaike Kogen: from late November
Hakuba Cortina: from 10th December
Hakuba Iwatake Snow Field: from 16th December
Hakuba Norikura Onsen: from mid December
Hakuba Sanosaka: from mid December
