Looks like the cloud coverage we were expecting has actually not rolled in this morning. Sun has busted through this AM and hopefully should warm things up a bit and melt the icy conditions that gelled overnight. Like yesterday the fog/clouds shrouded the NW end of the Hakuba valley, but the Goryu side remained sunny. Let's hope the midday winds of yesterday do not return as they play havoc with lift operation and thus accessing the higher slopes.

**BACKCOUNTRY HAZARD**
Avalanche danger in the Alpine CONSIDERABLE
Avalanche danger at Tree line CONSIDERABLE
Natural avalanches possible. Human triggered avalanches probable. Be increasingly cautious in steep terrain.

Avalanche danger below Tree line MODERATE
Natural avalanches unlikely. Huma triggered avalanches possible. Use caution in steeper terrain on certain aspects.

**TRAVEL ADVISORY**
Instability continues to lurk under about 30cm of wind slab that is resting on last week's rain crust. There are facets on this interface that have been showing up in compression tests moderate;sudden collapse failures, on North East slopes. Be cautious in steep North-East terrain, especially under cornices and around well-spaced trees and rock outcrops.

Be careful as South faces warm as the snow on the south is quite loose and isothermal, meaning that it would not be a surprise to see slides to the ground or on ice layers to be found in the pack.
