A few missed reports but the excuse is it's early season and who wants to hear about the past few days of clear, calm and warmish weather. Perfect if you're a snow hater who likes to see snow packs shrink!

Anyway, the good news is we are getting nuked on here and it's not by the North Koreans. Fluffy, dry pow is accumulating very rapidly. I cleared off a few car windows before getting the snow chewer out and within an hour there was already another 10cm on them. Light winds and the forecast is for this to continue all day, clear tomorrow and then snow again Tuesday night.

Please note that the snowfall numbers posted in this report will be observed from close to the base Tenjindaira Ropeway station - which is often much more than in the central town area of Minakami. More on that later.

Minakami Now ski lift operation notes:

Tenjin opened the Takakura Lift yesterday. Heard that the backside run of the Toge lift was only opened for one day but hard to keep things shut with fluffy stuff like this about.
Okutone is open but just the top part.
Hodaigi has their number 8 and number 6 lifts running and passes are Y2000 a pop until Dec 22 when normal rates kick in.
