Finally a morning without mountains of snow to move around. The snow stopped yesterday afternoon and skies were clear and starry last night but it's overcast this morning with no wind. Just what we need to keep the snow pack in tip top shape.

Hodaigi opened top lifts in the late morning yesterday and the effects of wind were obvious with the odd chunky drift about but conditions were generally excellent.

Tenjin was shut all day and a look at the Ropeway's instagram feed shows a video of their groomer on the cat track. It's immediately obvious why they didn't open - the amount of snow was crazy. It looked like their groomer was constantly in the midst of an avalanche.

The forecast is for silly amounts of snow this evening and massive winds with it. Choose your mountains carefully tomorrow!
