Myoko had a lot of snow over the weekend — wind, snow, more wind and more snow. It's hard to tell how much in total fell; it definitely was more than the resorts are reporting. Pretty heavy windpack out in the trees and backcountry; impossible to ski on Saturday, local reports have it, although better (at least for boarders) on Sunday.

That much windpack on top of some questionable layers in the snow (there are three distinct layers beginning at about 25cm below this latest heavy fall) means that caution is required. There was a major avalanche over in Shiga on a west-facing (ungroomed, currently unused) slope, and now with the sun coming out, the conditions are not getting any better. Choose your slope carefully (tours were called off on Sunday, just because it's too questionable, and probably impossible to ski down — probably a walk-down through the heavy snow!).
