That reset of the powder indeed happened overnight, with 20+cm of new snow by this morning at base level. Occasionally strong wind with the snow overnight made for a little bit of packing in the powder, but not much at lower elevations (some interesting stuff way up high, but very few people were up to challenge it—pretty windy on the high ridges today!).

People were saying that there will be a bit of a break in the snow (especially my snowthrower repairman, who has taken away my trusty machine for repair), and right now the stars are out, but our highly reliable Snow Japan weather report tells me otherwise (will I be able to dig out the house tomorrow?). Could even be heavy, it seems... Nothing new in that, though!

Aside from machinery concerns, there's nothing like the possibility of even more fresh powder, and some cold temperatures ahead to keep it nice and light.
