Nice, light powder — a perfect day in Myoko (OK, it's not bluebird, but we've talked about this; good snow needs to be treated gently....). We've seen (and Akakan is reporting) about 20cm of good snow, and it looks like it will continue on and off through the day, and over the next week or so.

The forecast is for sunnier conditions tomorrow, so for those who think that's great skiing, your day is coming. For those of us who like to bundle up and ski in, not on, the snow, looks like there may be a little wait for a really heavy snowfall. We're only halfway through February, so there's lots of opportunities ahead.

Offpiste, keep checking on the increasing pack on top of the last crust. It seemed to be fairly rough and beginning to bond with the new snow, but it's always best to double check (I haven't poked around any north-facing slopes recently, for example). be careful, but have fun!
