Two days of sun and warmth here in Myoko; it really feels like spring for the first time. We're not seeing huge drops in the snowpack, though, following some fresh on Tuesday and Wednesday. That made for some pretty fun skiing in the backcountry yesterday; almost powder in the shade, gluey stuff int he sun, so lots of go fast ans suddenly slow down. The snow should be settling even more with this warm weather, so real spring skiing can start soon.

Except that it looks like more snow ahead! The forecast is somewhere between rain and snow at base level, but we might get a pretty good accumulation up higher. More of the soft, heavy stuff for the backcountry, and nice white slopes on the courses. Champagne powder? It's fine for those just getting started; this full-bodied spring stuff will make you a much better skier or boarder.
