A super-bluebird day in Myoko today; not a cloud in the local sky, cold temps, bright white snow.... Wish the snow would keep falling for days and days, but it is nice to have a day like this so people can enjoy seeing what a beautiful area it really is. Still pretty brown up there, but Mt. Myoko is shining and white today.

Looks like snow is back on tomorrow, and hopefully it will be a big one (heavy snow is forecast). Then a day or two to enjoy it before things get seriously weird and the freezing line moves all the way up to 3000 meters on Saturday. I hope they're wrong on this, but I doubt it, and that warm spell is accompanied with heavy rains.

If that does happen, on top of fresh snow, stay out of the mountains (maybe it will be raining so hard people won't even think of heading out). Rain on new snow? Avalanches will be happening everywhere, so really really think about doing something else. If the snow is settled, it's not such a big worry, but this sudden change could bring some pretty extreme conditions.
