Good morning to you all from here in Niseko.

As expected, there's no fresh snow to report this morning (apart from what looks like a very slight dusting). This morning looks kind of similar to how yesterday was... generally cloudy. It us currently -2C here at base.

Actually there's not really much to report this morning, so this will be one of my shorter reports. I won't make any comments about the forecast either; please go take a look yourself it's that big blue button at the top of the page that says '6-Day Forecast'.

Later on today I will put together my 'analysis' of the season so far (it sounds ever so scientific, doesn't it*), and I will post that in the report tomorrow.

So until then, I hope you have a fun day wherever you may be.

Niseko Avalanche Report:

Niseko base 6am: -3℃, no snowfall. Moiwa 800m: -5℃, no snowfall, light development of westerly wind snowdrifts. Annupuri 1150m: -11℃, NNW12m/s, no snowfall with small snowdrifts. Hirafu 1200m: -8℃, no snowfall, calm. Cosatal data: Kamui cape SW13m/s, 1015hPa, 1.5m waves.

There are no snow clouds over the Sea of Japan and snowfall cannot be expected. Some soft and unstable snowdrifts have developed with the westerly wind, and covered some of yesterday’s tracks above 800m. Warm air will flow in during the day and the wind is forecasted to pick up. Today’s surface will remain as a notable layer under the future snowpack. The general avalanche risk is low. Some gates are scheduled to open, please ask for ski patrol’s advice at the gates. Be geared up and well prepared for backcountry travels.

This information is the official information for Niseko Rules and is drafted based on 5am on site conditions, meteorological agency information and coast guard information.

Light is weak and the slopes undulation are hard to notice. Beware of falling into cracks/holes and hitting trees. Most accidents can be avoided by being prudent. Don’t duck ropes, violators will have their lift passes confiscated.

Have a nice day.
