Well it is dumping out there this morning. Since last report we've had up around 35-40cm of fresh snow and it's only getting heavier out there. Heavy snow is expected to continue throughout the day and overnight into tomorrow.
It's going to be deep up on the mountain with bottomless turns across the resort and the last of the sasa should get well and truly covered over the next day or so. Winds are expected to get stronger today and overnight so there'll be some substantial drifting around the mountain with plenty of loading of lee slopes and cornice development. Of course this means avi danger will be very high for the next day or two. By the weekend the winds should abate and hopefully we'll see more of the gates around the resort opening up as avi danger decreases.

Avalanche Information:

Annupuri 800m at 6am: -10℃, 30cm of mixed hail overnight snowfall.
A southwesterly wind picked up from noon yesterday and has been stagnating around 20m/s at 1000m.
Although it slightly calmed down in the evening, it swung NW and picked up again during the night and keeps blowing pretty strongly this morning.
Unstable snowdrifts are developing all around the mountain and avalanche hazard is very high in all elevation and slope orientation.
The storm is forecasted to keep going on until tomorrow and the danger level would rise as the snowfall amount grows. All gates will be kept closed today for the sake of all resort users.
The out of bounds area is in an extremely hazardous condition, do not duck ropes or nets to seek fresh lines.
We should be able to start opening more gates once this storm settles and the snowpack stabilizes.
Please be patient and enjoy the powder within the boundaries for the moment.
