Light snow continued through much of yesterday and into the evening but cleared overnight. This morning it is mostly clear with only a little high overcast starting to move in. The wind has died down and all lifts are expected to operate and all gates are expected to open. It is a perfect morning to head up the peak. There'll be great views and the snow in the bowls should be really, really nice. With all the top gates being closed the last few days there'll be plenty of fresh tracks all day long for those heading up.
Snow is expected to move into the region again later today and continue through much of the outlook.

Current Official Snow Depths:

Grand Hirafu:
Top - 380
Bottom - 190

Niseko Village:
Top - 380
Bottom - 200

Top - 315
Bottom - 220

Avalanche Information:

Peak gates are scheduled to open as soon as they’re ready, please follow the ski patrol’s instructions. Ducking any ropes is strictly prohibited; people who do will have their lift ticket confiscated.
The winter weather pattern has weakened and the wind has calmed down in all elevations. The snowdrifts are stabilizing with time and the general avalanche hazard is lowering. However, typical avalanche terrain such as leeward knolls and slopes under cornices should be avoided at all time to avert the chances of accidents to happen. Avalanches run through the gully bottoms; resting/stopping at the bottom is not a safe decision. Avoid traversing steep slopes; it considerably increases the possibility to trigger a slide.
Coastal data: WNW5m/s at Benkei cape, 1.7m waves, 1007hPa at Kamui cape.
Annupuri peak 6am: WNW6.7m/s, -13.2℃.
The snow below treeline is in good shape.
