The snow keeps on falling adding another 20-25cm since last report. It was falling quite heavily earlier this morning but currently it is light. Snow is expected throughout the day and should continue up to the weekend which at this stage is expected to mostly fine up. Might actually be nice to see the sun again, if only briefly!
Gates 1, 4 and 6 will open again today and will offer some very deep turns. Just be aware that avalanche danger is still quite high so keep this in mind when selecting your route down the mountain. Will be another epic powder day out there today.

Avalanche Information:

Annupuri 800m 6am: -14.7 ℃ and 20cm of overnight snowfall. The NW wind picked up again yesterday afternoon, blowing up to 16-20m / s above 900m with heavy snowfall.
Cornices and snowdrifts are continuously developing in high elevation leeward steep slopes and surface slab avalanche risks remain high today.
Deeper layer major scale slides are also to be considered in very steep slopes, as dodgy layers are still present above and under the pre-storm (Jan 5th) crust layer.
Depending on the lift operations, gate 1 (L-ji), 4 (Fujiwara) and 6 (Moiwa) are scheduled to open at 10am. However, traversing across to leeward (SE facing) steep slopes in Osawa, Backbowl, Higashi-One , other knolls and cornice slopes are extremely dangerous.
Stay away from potential avalanche terrain and valley bottoms.
