Only a light dusting since last report and today has been a magnificent bluebird day. The resort is quite tracked out and the snow has been affected by the sun on any southerly or westerly aspects but it has been a great day to get out backcountry where there&s still some nice powder up to around shin deep.
Snow is expected to develop tonight and continue throughout tomorrow so hopefull some better conditions in resort in the days ahead.

Current Official Snow Depths:

Grand Hirafu:
Top - 370
Bottom - 190

Niseko Village:
Top - 380
Bottom - 200

Annupuri:
Top - 320
Bottom - 220

Avalanche Information:

ll gates are scheduled to open this morning, peak gates 2 & 3 at 9:30. Please follow the ski patrol instructions. Overnight snowfall is very slim and the wind, although remaining relatively calm, made gradual transition from SW to south then to east. Annupuri peak 6am: E3.8m/s and -13.6℃. Annupuri 800m: NE3.3m/s and -10℃. The snow condition hasn’t changed much from yesterday. The surface is partially rugged in wind-exposed slopes, and surfaces that seems uniform from distance can be a mixed condition of hard-crust and deep wind-blown soft patches. Yesterday’s tracks remain in most terrain and newly formed snowdrifts are almost non-existent. Instability factors are diminishing. Due to sun and temperature influence, there is a big difference in the snow condition depending on the elevation. Cornices should not be stimulated as it may collapse anytime and the damage can be bigger than expected. Stay alarmed and ride carefully, beware of hitting trees or fall in crevasses. Avalanches are not the only perils in the backcountry.
