Yesterday continued snowing into the early afternoon and there was deep powder turns to be had all over the mountain. It then cleared up through the afternoon and remained fine overnight. This morning it is only partly cloudy with a reasonable amount of sun coming through. There's still some sasa sticking through but more and more of the off-piste is becoming skiable and there's thigh to waist deep snow in the gullies and lee slopes. The King #4 lift has opened today allowing the full lifted vertical to be skiable for the first time this season.
Snow is expected to come back in later this afternoon so enjoy the sun whilst you can.

Tomrrow a low pressure system is expected to move through Honshu and a warm front will move up over Hokkaido. Thankfully at this time of year though it won't be that warm at all and heavy snow is expected tomorrow night. As the low moves up towards the NE cooler air will return with move snow through Wednesday in Thursday.

Avalanche Information:

Mountain base 6am: -9 ℃, no overnight snowfall. The wind remained relatively calm, blowing around 10m / s SW in higher elevation. The snow that started to fall early morning yesterday reached up to 40cm (deeper in some eastern slopes) by noon . Although the wind was not too strong at then, it picked up in the evening and resulted in some packed snow surfaces and heavy snowdrifts development in some specific slopes. The snow layers are yet to stabilize and the avalanche risk remains high in steep and loaded terrain. Better not underestimate the existing risks. Do not duck ropes and seek fresh lines in off limits areas.
