Snow fell on and off through much of yesterday with occasional breaks in the cloud. Overnight it mostly cleared but it started up again early this morning. All up around 5-10cm since last report. The winds eased and avalanche risk is low so all gates including the peak are expected to open today. Overall the conditions on the mountain are pretty good. It's still on the eastern facing lee slopes that the deepest snow can be found. Fujiwara no Sawa bowl would be my pick for the day.
The snow is expected to continue into the early afternoon and then become mostly fine and tomorrow is expecting to be sunny again. The fine weather though will be short lived with more snow expected later on Tuesday which should last then throughout the rest of the week.

Current Official Snow Depths:

Grand Hirafu:
Top - 385
Bottom - 185

Niseko Village:
Top - 370
Bottom - 170

Top - 360
Bottom - 210

Avalanche Information:

Light snowfall has started since pre-dawn due to passing small Low. Peak gates are scheduled to open at 9:30 when the top-lifts start operations. Looking at various data, snowfall transition and present status, the snowdrifts have stabilized and the general avalanche risk is low. Fresh snow seems to be deeper in eastern areas, but overall good condition everywhere in the mountain. The visibility will probably remain bad during the morning; beware of cracks and changing gradient in the slope. It’s Sunday today and many people are expected to be in the mountain. Be conscious of not only your own safety but the others’ too. Better not cut across knolls or slopes under cornices, these slopes could slide at anytime and there may be many people below you. It is strongly recommended not to ride or rest at the bottom of the gullies; avalanches run through the bottom. Always use the access gates to step out, one track left under the rope leads other to do the same and as a consequence, increases the possibilities of accidents to happen. Ducking ropes is strictly prohibited in Niseko. Enjoy your day.
