Only a little snow overnight and a few flurries around this morning. Still good snowfalls expected to start overnight tonight and continue through to the weekend.
Up on the hill things are getting pretty tracked out but there's still a few fresh tracks to be found (if you know where to look).
A bit of advice for those near the Ace Family Lift, if possible avoid using it! It's a very slow lift and there are huge queues there most of the day at the moment. With all the ski schools and nearby accommodation it gets incredibly busy. You'd be better off catching a shuttle up to the welcome centre to start from there.
Anyway currently a little sun is poking through so get out there and enjoy it as it may be the last time we see it for awhile.

Avalanche Information:

Mountain base: -2℃, 5cm of fresh crystal snowfall since pre-dawn. Coastal data: SW6m/s at Benkei cape, SSW10m/s, 1004hPa and 1.4m waves at Kamui cape. The wind is forecasted to remain calm in all elevation. The temperature is relatively high at the base, but went down to -8.3℃ around 800m. Snow clouds are covering the Sea of Japan, however not much snow is falling in Niseko area. There are no new developments of snowdrifts and the avalanche risk is small. There still is not enough snow to open the gates. It will take a few more dumps before the out of bounds area opens. Whether there is a lot of snow or not, avalanches happen under the right conditions. Drastic development s of snowdrifts is one of them. Always evaluate the hazards of the slope you’re about to ride before you drop in it. Better not underestimate the risk you’re taking. Do not duck ropes. Groomed slopes condition is beautiful this morning.
