Rain was actually falling in Shiga Kogen earlier on this morning - something that is fairly rare in mid-winter and of course most unwelcome - but that has thankfully now changed into snow and the temperatures are now dropping.

Right now the temperature is just under 0, but look for the temperatures to drop further as the day progresses and hopefully we will be entering into a prolonged colder spell which would be welcome after the milder weather of the last week or so.

So it looks like it is snow lined up for the day and also the next few days - so if you are planning to be in Shiga Kogen come prepared for the cold and snow. With a fresh snowfall, conditions should be good out there and improving as more falls.
