Welcome to April - marking the end of the season for some resorts around town, but others will remain open well into late May.

So just after I posted the main report yesterday it started snowing. Down at town level it didn't really last or didn't continue with much conviction anyway - sometimes turning into rain again - and this morning there is just a dusting of snow to show for it. Up high, Kagura are reporting 5cm of new snowfall. Kandatsu seems to have increased the snow depth by 10cm, so apparently that much fell over there.

This morning, contrary to what we were really expecting, the sun is out and we have some blue skies up there. The wind has calmed down as well today. It looks like it is going to be a fine day. This is all both better (not much rain in town) and worse (not much snow up top) than we were thinking this weekend would be, but with the clearer weather at the moment it should be a feel-good spring morning.

It's not as warm today, dipping down to about +1C overnight and a high of around +5 forecast for the middle of the day. A chance of light snowfall overnight but it should clear up once again for tomorrow.

Today is of course the last day of the season for a number of resorts - see posting a few days ago - and tomorrow we will go over that once again with news on the resorts that remain open.
