Hello and a good morning to you from Yuzawa.

Happily it is a much drier feeling this morning. It is generally overcast and cloudy with some blue sky in places and the sun trying to break through.

As expected it is going to get warmer than we would like today - up to around 7C later on - but there's promise in the forecasts beyond today.

A chance of me being able to report fresh snow on the ground tomorrow, though it's going to be borderline again if it doesn't get cold enough so all we can do is cross as many fingers as possible and hope for the best. The good news is that there's snow on the forecast beyond tomorrow as well through Thursday so let's hope it delivers.

In the meantime, lower slopes are struggling. Maiko is having to close the lower Nagamine area and part of the Maiko area again, but conditions up at the higher Okusoeji bowl area remain decent. Similar stories at other places... basically the better snow conditions are found higher up.

Here's to the snowfall this week!
